I have not had the opportunity to see Frozen on stage yet, so I was very excited to see Harlequin’s production of the Frozen Jr version and the magic this story has come to life.  And they did not disappoint to deliver a magical evening.

As always in a Harlequin production the energy from every cast member is infectious to the audience and the reactions that they received all night was truly well deserved.  Every member of the cast showed great characterisation in their parts, strong vocals and handled the movement very well.

Leading the cast were the princesses Else and Anna, played perfectly by Sophie Lawson (Elsa) and Eve Harvey (Anna).  Both gave strong performances with strong character work, humour when required and excellent vocals.  Comedy was boosted with a fantastic performance by Thomas McIntyre as Olaf.  He captured this role effortlessly and made any appearance on stage count.  The parts of Hans (Christopher Ralph) and Kristoff (Matthew Penman) kept the comedy going and both Christopher and Matthew worked very well with Eve in hilarious scenes.  With lots of characters appearing throughout the show to keep the story moving, the show was fast paced, and this was helped with the use of the set pieces and lighting.  I would like to make special mention to one of the minor principal characters, The Duke of Weselton played by Noah Shaw, who brought the snivelling character to life excellently.

A huge well done again to the whole Harlequin team on a fantastic production of this well-loved Disney show.
