A huge congratulations must go to all involved in this superb performance. Everything was spot on, production, vocals, choreography, costumes, set, casting, lighting and sound.

The principals were ideally cast with strong performances from all. Beautiful vocals and exceptional acting from Ariel (Kirsten Smith) and Prince Eric (Robert Oakes). With feisty characterisation Ursula (Kirsty Beaumont) dominated her scenes supported with well played menace by Flotsam (Lucy Reilly) and Jetsam (Alison Wylie). The comedy was handled confidently by Sebastian (Paul J. Creegan), Scuttle (Archie Turnbull), Flounder (Piper Uribe) and lastly Chef Louis (Jude Vandecasteele). Under the sea dominant King Triton (Sean O'Rourke) controlled his kingdom and his rebellious daughters (Rachel Weir, Emma McFarlane, Tamsin Holbrook, Ellen Wakem, Louise Evans, Emily Easton) all playing their roles with superb characterisation. On land Grimsby (Nick Browne) handled his wayward charge Prince Eric with authority and compassion and the principals were completed by the Pilot (Michael Sanderson) and Windward (Louis McGregor) who added charm to the scenes on the ship. The ensemble supported the principles excellently with slick dancing sequences.

For an opening night performance the standard was very high with only minimal hiccups with some scene changes. I was very impressed with the well-disciplined vocals of all involved, credit for this must go to Billy Muir. The other production team members must also be congratulated for their work, Ewan Campbell, Donna Reilly and Jenni Main.

The audience and myself enjoyed an evening of talent and fun. Well done everyone.
