Wow, how lucky am I getting to see all these wonderful shows in our region. I have just witnessed such a talented group putting on a show with so much professionalism I could very easy have been watching a west end show.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels centres on two conmen, one making money by talking rich women out of their money and the other one a swindler playing on ladies’ heart strings by telling them how he needs money to help with medical bills etc. They both meet up and try working together but as the story goes on, they decide the town is not big enough for both of them.

The suave and sophisticated one Lawrence Jameson played by James Manning gave a confident performance of this character whilst the cheeky chap Freddy Benson played by Owen Evans whose comedy timing was out of this world were the perfect double act they both sang so well and delivered their lines to utter perfection.

Andre Thibault played by Richard Field sang and danced so well and with his French accent sounded so good and Muriel played by Colette Gaizley who also shined in her role with her vocals and comedy timing made for a perfect double act.

Jolene Played by Paige Young was full of energy and enthusiasm.

Christine Colgate played by Amy Hall, played this part with true conviction with a wonderful range of vocals. Really good interaction between the three of them and so funny especially when Freddy was in the wheelchair.

Although too many to mention I must give a huge round of applause to the Ensemble, some playing two or three parts. You all shined on the stage and sounded so good with your vocals, and the dancing was very good.

Colin Brind the musical director had the band dressed in white, looked amazing at the rear of the stage and the music was faultless.

Jenni Hutchinson the choreographer had the ensemble and the main characters dancing with ease, and you could tell how much hard work must have gone into this.

The lighting, sound and set was of the highest standards.

Finally, a big shout out must go to Cole Kelly the Artistic Director, you have put on a fantastic show which had everything from Comedy, Dancing, and Acting and although you had a very strong cast it takes a good director to put people in the right parts and places, and you done this ever so well.

Getting back to the ensemble, although not everyone gets a main part the lead characters would not shine on stage without the hard work and dedication you have shown on the stage. You all must be so proud of putting on a great show that was delivered to the audience.

Thank You

Jim Morgan
