This production was a first for me as I had not seen it before and what a surprise it was. It was one of the best nights entertainment I have had. The sets, orchestra sound and lighting were all excellent but above all the comedy in the show was performed by all the main six principals. Darren Smith (Lawrence Jameson) gave a brilliant performance as the smooth sophisticated conman praying on the wealthy women on the French Riviera. Chris Hall (Freddy Benson) a small time crook who wishes to learn and emulate Darren gave a super acting and singing performance showing the great versitility he has now developed. Melanie Harrison (Christine Colgate) as always sung. danced and acted in great style especially in the 'Nothing Is Too Wonderful To Be True' number. Jane Griffin (Muriel) as one of Lawrence's besotted admirers was most impressive in her number 'What Was A Woman To Do'. Gareth Jones (Andre Thibault) Chief of Police and Jenny Nixon (Jolene) a rich American oil heiress both gave fine confident performances. Amanda Marsden can be well satisfied with her first show as Director and Chreographer.
