A very fast moving play with some very funny moments. This farce tells us about Jacqueline Marcellin who goes to the hair dressers every Saturday afternoon at the same time. But does she. In reality she is meeting Robert Regnier, who, according to his wife, works so hard even Saturday afternoons. But Jacqueline's husband Bernard has found out about the affair and invites Robert over by sending a message on his wife's mobile phone, and so the fun begins. Bernard has decided that as Robert is sleeping with his wife, he will either kill Robert or get his own back and sleep with Roberts wife Juliette, so far so good, but then Robert turns up for dinner with a stand in wife, Barbara, a €2000 a night escort who pretends to be his wife, the evening turns into chaos, then Robert's real wife, Juliette, turns up and the evening turns into fun for the audience. In-between all this we have the maid, Marie-Louise, who just cannot keep up with goings on. All she wants to do is serve dinner.

Joanne Ellis assembled a cast that worked so well together. Bernard was played by Dexter Whitehead and Robert by Phil Beardsmore who just bounced off each other. Bernard's wife Jacqueline played by Lynette Coffey and Barbara played by Louise Farmer were a joy to watch. The sophisticated Juliette was brought to life by Alison Daly. Stephanie Mills as Marie-Louise shone for me. Her comic timing was excellent and she managed to keep a straight face all the time through her performance.

The set, designed by Joanne, was another fine example of the detail Sutton Arts put into their plays, even down to the Elfiel Tower in the background.

If you missed this play you missed a treat.
