Die Fledermaus

A concert version of “Die Fledermaus” was a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Two Narrators, Janette Clough and Vi Hurdley, told the famous Johann Strauss II’s most celebrated and popular operetta. Three acts of mistaken identities, practical jokes, fancy dress and beautiful music.

When you mix all this together with an imaginative musical director, a  competent accompanist and add a company who can sing you have an audience who thoroughly enjoyed the performance and at times sang along with the most popular songs. If at anytime things should go wrong, you can always blame it on the one culprit “Champagne”.

I’m glad to say nothing went wrong during this performance and the afternoon was enjoyed by all.
