This was Marjorie's last production with Menston Thespians after five years with them and she made an excellent job of her final show.

The highlight of the pantomime for me had to be the children who sparkled throughout the performance. They sang with such enthusiasm and had been well drilled in their appealing dance routines. It was lovely to see some talented young boys involved, let's hope that they can keep them for future productions.

There was plenty of humour throughout the show from Dame Sarah (Steven Millward) and Idle Jack (Rob Place), and some very good jokes if only I could remember them. They were strongly supported by the rest of the cast especially the lovely cat Tommy (Jenny Whitehead). There was good interaction with the audience and the children had plenty of opportunities to join in. We had lots of songs, probably one or two too many, accompanied by a talented quintet led by Arnold Boddy.

They had really gone to town with the sets this year and the results were excellent. The costumes too were bright and colourful and with good stage lighting made for a very pleasing overall effect. The character make-up was very well done especially for the cat, very lifelike.

This was a lively and colourful show much appreciated by the capacity audience. Well done Marjorie, I'm sure you will be back.
