A bright and breezy show with everything one has come to expect from a Brechin production. Brian Mathieson as Sarah the Cook was ably assisted by Caitlyn Boyd as Idle Jack, the talented duo had a great rapport with the audience. Ross Robertson as King Rat well deserved all the boos and hisses he received on his every entrance while his enemy Fairy Bow Bells well played by Kerry Guthrie, making the most of her rhyming stanzas. Dick Whittington (Maia Middleton) and Alice Fitzwarren (Flora Hendry) made a delightful partnership in song and dance. Tommy the Cat (Danielle Collie) had all the body language required for this feline role. The minor roles of Alderman Fitzwarren (Murdo McDonald), Captain Cuttle (Teresa Warden), The Sultan of Morocco (Douglas Johnston), Gnawbone (Courtney Morrison) and Gnashfang (Elena Williamson) all played their parts convincingly. A well drilled chorus sang, danced and executed their hand jive with great enthusiasm. We all enjoyed ourselves, OH YES WE DID!
