Written by Felicity Downes and Helen Lohan, this told the familiar story well. There were plenty of chances for audience participation and the strong portrayals from the principals were well supported by the very hard working chorus. The standard of the singing was good and I enjoyed the choice of music thoughout. Alan Reilly and Helen Lohan as Ratface and Ratbag were excellent and deserved every "Boo!" they recieved . Jordan Clarke made a endearing Dick Whittington and was well matched with Emily Ashbrook as Alice Fitzwarren. However, I would have liked to have seen more attention given to Emily's hair. Hanging loose and in no particular style, it added nothing to her character and this was a shame. The four princesses were great fun and it was encouraging to see some of the younger members of the company taking the lime light. Well done. The choreography was well executed and involved everyone as often as possible. Costumes were bright and engaging and the lighting appropriate. There were a few issues with the sound at the performance I attended but this did not stop the audience from enjoying themselves. The high energy level shown throughout made this an enjoyable experience for children and adults alike. Thank you for your hospitality.
