This was a lovely production and as always it was lovely to see the different range of ages on stage. The show was dedicated to Joy Slater, who was moving out of the area, and was past Pianist and President of the Society. One of the stars of the children’s chorus was Sam Maynard-Watkins (who has a disability) who was very cute especially when he was dressed as a rat!
All the parts were well cast and there was a funny unintentional slip of a word by Alderman Fitzwarren played by Geoff Marshall who accidentally said erotic instead of exotic when describing his Character’s stall which got a good laugh from the parents.
I thought the version of “I’ve been everywhere man” with the list of local names was very well done and all musical numbers were well performed.
The appearance of the Gorilla played by Pam Banks got the biggest “its behind you!” from the excited children in the audience.
It was a wonderful afternoon and thank you to KADOS for inviting me.
