It is always difficult to work out who enjoys  pantos more, those on stage or us in the audience. There was so much in this show to enjoy. Paul Cohen was super as Dolly Dumpling having such good rapport with the audience. Together with his son  Idle Jack (Gareth Mabon) jokes came  thick and fast. Everyone laughed when they asked questions and a little one in the audience shouted out the answers, I did wonder whether she was in the show???

Comedy was also evident when Captain Cuttlefish and his sidekick Scupper came on stage. Ben Lathem and Chris Hatchman playing the two sailors were very funny,I must admit having a soft spot for Scupper, a great performance.

Jenny Price and Laura Cunliffe gave lovely performances as Dick Whittington and Alice. With great acting and  vocals, they made a couple, matching  perfectly. Duets were so well sung.

In all good pantos there has to be a` good` baddie and we certainly had one in this show. King Rat was brilliantly portrayed by Jason Crompton. His makeup and outfit were top class. Other members deserving of mention  was Fairy Bowbells (Joanne Burton) having a beautiful voice,Colin Dean playing a perfect Alderman Fitzwarren, Elliot Hogben was great as the Sulton and finally,  giving a super performance with acrobatics was Tom, the cat, played by Ebony Crosby. Without doubt, the stage shone when the children came on stage. They were so very good and  it  was obvious a lot of work was done to get  everything right. I especially enjoyed the number  `Me And My Teddybear` with  the tinies on stage. All the chorus numbers were well performed, congratulations to all those who must have spent so much time teaching the chorus, great result.

My friend and I, together with all the audience had a lovely evening. Thank you so much for your kind invitation.
