From the moment the overture started the audience feet were tapping. What excellent musicians they were and this continued throughout the show.

It was a joy to see a menacing King Rat (Steve Coussens) enter stage left and not pass centre stage and the cockney Fairy Bow Bells (Sarah Coussens) enter stage right each and never did she encroach passed centre stage – thank you.

Dick Whittington played by Jonathan Hunt delivered his dialogue convincingly and came into his own delivering a number with dancing in the duets with Alice (Hattie Rudge). Sarah the Cook was played with great humour by David Shaw with Idle Jack (Ricky Hammond) both worked well with the audience As Tommy the cat Sophie Ruddick played the part extremely well; fantastic costume and make-up. Julia Tromans as Captain Cuttle had great stage presence without going over the top. The supporting cast were most proficient, in  particular The Sultana of Morocco (India lakhan ) and King Rats assistants Gnawbone and Gnashfang (Hatty Humpherson) and (Neive Marrison). The set looked right and the costumes were spectacular and colourful as always.

Congratulations to all involved
