Dial 01590 For Murder

This was a very enjoyable Murder Mystery evening which included a quiz and a very enjoyable meal.  

Written by Ivor J King, for his own local drama group in Lincolnshire, “ Dial 01590 For Murder”  is a short  play consisting of four scenes which were about 15 minutes in duration. There was a break between each of the scenes which allowed the meal to be served. 

There were seven colourful characters in the rather farcical, but entertaining storyline, each scene was a monthly meeting of a local parish council, the main theme of the meetings was a major local planning issue..  After the mysterious death of the secretary,  all the other cast members become suspects.

I thought that each member of the cast performed well with very good characterisation. I very much enjoyed the spiritual medium and I thought Frau Elsa, strutting about like a member of the German Gestapo was very amusing.  There were quite a few prompts, a few ad libs, and a little bit of playing to the crowd, but overall it was very enjoyable play, at times it was very funny and it was certainly well received by the very supportive audience

Well done to all concern for producing this very enjoyable evening.
