When Megan, second wife of artist Tony, is visited by Todd, she is anxious that he should not meet her husband although he explains that he represents an organisation counselling the victims of crime.Tony's first wife was murdered in the local park and Megan emphasises that Tony is now totally obsessed with her memory. When Todd offers to provide the revenge that Tony seeks, the play moves through a number of twists before the final 'reckoning'.
Central to the plot Janet Black (Megan) gave a strong performance throughout. John Castell (Todd) was effectively persuasive, maybe a little more underlying menace as his true character is revealed? Alisdair Lowe looked and talked the thuggish Slater with confidence. Stephen Carter had by far the most difficult character to portray as the alcoholic Tony. Required to drink red wine continuously, it seemed somewhat unlikely that he could possibly complete the play! Nevertheless he successfully kept in character, as his life is gradually torn to shreds.
This small cast delivered all the tension required of a thriller. A very suitable set enhanced the production and the audience was sent away very satisfied.
