Peter Whalley is a script writer and playwright of vast experience and I was looking forward to this production by the award winning Fylde Coast Players. The story, unfortunately, took far too long to unfold and although the performances on stage were excellent, I was impatient to know how soon the plot was to progress. It was the second act before we began to realize there was to be something more to interest the audience. The storyline began to be more intriguing and the final denouement, surprising to say the least. All on stage had a large amount of dialogue to learn and was in the hands of four very talented actors. Andy Cooke’s performance as Jack was a tour de force and he, along with the other members of the cast, ensured that the pace never faltered. Ian Edmundson directed with his usual attention to detail and it must have been a joy to work with the excellent cast. This company prides itself on a high standard in everything they do and this play is certainly no exception. Thank you for your very kind invitation and I look forward to you next production.
