Dare to Dream Jr

Hartlepool Junior Stage Society’s recent production of "Dare to Dream" was a delightful showcase of youthful talent, brimming with colour and energy from start to finish. The creative team brought the stage to life with imaginative set design and vibrant costuming, perfectly complementing the upbeat atmosphere of the show.  It’s a wonderful show choice for a Junior group with a lovely loose story of the Disney Imagineers and creating plenty of opportunity for all of the cast to shine.  When you have over 80 children to get on stage that’s a feat in itself, but co-directors Sarah Charlton and Liv Kidson did a sterling job making sure all had their opportunity to shine. 

The cast delivered lovely performances throughout, with each young performer displaying confidence and enthusiasm beyond their years. The ensemble numbers were particularly impressive, with dynamic choreography and spirited singing that engaged the audience and brought a real sense of joy to the theatre.  The cast were split into 3 teams; Elite Force, Dreeam team and All Stars complemented by the Principle Cast and they were superb with some beautiful mature voices performing solos and duets in a manner far beyond their years.

Special mention must go to the direction, which ensured every member of the cast had their moment to shine, fostering a supportive environment where talent flourished. The pacing was lively, keeping the audience thoroughly entertained and invested in the story’s uplifting message.  It was also the perfect length for a young cast to perform 2 wonderful performances on a Sunday.

Overall, "Dare to Dream" was a thoroughly enjoyable production, demonstrating the Society’s commitment to nurturing creativity and teamwork. Congratulations to all involved for delivering a show that not only entertained but inspired, leaving the audience with smiles on their faces and hope in their hearts.
