When the Wind Blows
Duston Players, Duston Community Centre
Daisy Pulls It Off is not the easiest of plays to cast and Sally Bruton-Lang was indeed fortunate to have the wealth of talent that Festival Players can rely on. The plot is rather twee and somewhat contrived but reflected society's class prejudices and snobbery together with bullying which was prevelant in private schools of the era. It was a very strong cast with special mention going to Harriet North - Daisy Meredith, Lianne O'Connor - Trixie Martin, Clare Beaumont - Amy Walters and Clare Malpas - Alice Fitzpatrick with the other girls and males adding their own well defined characterizations. The set worked well for all the different areas including the "treasure" denoument.
