It was lovely to be invited back to watch The Great Horton Singers “Cruising Into Summer” Concert. The programme consisted of a wide range of music led and arranged by their Musical Director Rosie Walsh including The Muppet Show to a Trilogy from Les Mis. The Great Horton Singers were also supported by “The Memphis Cruisers” which I will admit I didn’t know any of the songs but enjoyed the performance all the same. The double bass player was highly entertaining and left us all wondering what position he would be playing in next! All profits from the show were being donated to the people of the Ukraine and a member of the Ukrainian Society had also been invited. Several well-chosen numbers linked themselves to the terrible time that country is going through at this time and throughout the concert our thoughts were with them. The programme included something for everybody and several pieces as I sat and listened brought back poignant and wonderful memories from my past and I am sure that other members of the audience also had such pleasure. A wonderful evening which was reflected by the weather during the day consisting of delightful entertainment, lovely singing, homemade cake, and I even won a prize in the raffle! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
