This was a well-staged and choreographed production of this colourful musical. It looked as though everyone on stage was enjoying themselves and this carried over to the audience.

Stacey Ward and Andrew Gilman as Lola La Mar and Tony Forte sang with conviction, in solos and duets, showing what strong voices they have. James Gorton was suitably sinister as Rico Castelli as he tried to control Lola and Becky Eason as the feisty Conchita Alverez. Once again this was a good working partnership and showed off their singing talents. There was plenty of fun from Nik Ellis (Gladys Murphy) and Tony Ramsey (Sam Silver). In addition to this, they showed sympathetic support for the blossoming romance between Lola and Tony. There are lots of character parts to fill out the story and this kept the talented cast busy throughout.

The choreography was inventive and included a wide range of different dance styles superbly executed by the group of dancers. They were even more impressive because of the relatively small working area.

The whole performance was backed by a very competent band, colourful costumes and good sound and lighting.

Well done to everyone involved!
