The society entertained a full house the evening that I went.and nobody was disappointed. There really was something for everyone.
We were treated to super choral numbers including ` Mad about Mozart ` and a chorus from Verdi`s Aida. The choir sang a beautiful piece,` Allelulia` from Shrek, as well as a selection from Les Miserables which included a number of soloists.
Solo musical numbers included a very funny `Parody on Memory` by Fran Davies, and `The Holy City,` well sung by Gorden Bustard who invited the audience to join in the chorus. We were great!!!
There was a stunning piece from The Messiah `For Unto Us` with the show ending with a lovely` Morte Criste` The concert was very well thought out with numbers by the full choir and some with just the men including `Drunken Sailor`which was well sung. The ladies not to be outdone gave us a great `Be My Baby` and `Songbird`.
The society announced the next show `Merry Widow` and delighted the audience with a small selection, certainly wetting the appetite, and beautifully sung.
Linking the show as MC was David Hill and playing the piano for the entire evening really well was Nicola Dagnall.
Thank you so much for your kind invitation. I had a lovely night
