ACAOS chalked up another success with their latest summer revue. Set in a busy airport, travellers arrived and departed sharing the motives behind their journeys and expressing their circumstances, emotions and true feeling through a clever script and a variety of popular hits from the musical theatre. From the opening number ‘Come Fly with Me’, we knew we were destined for new heights and we were not disappointed. Hope, love, frustration, jealousy and loathing were some of the emotions that linked the travellers together with perfectly selected numbers from hit musicals such as Chess, Wicked, Rent, Avenue Q, Miss Saigon, Sister Act, Guys & Dolls, Chicago and Hairspray. The company displayed great talent and togetherness and it would be unfair for me to single anyone out as performances were of the highest standard. As co-writers, Director and Assistant Director, Susan and Kat Campbell brought great creative licence to the overall production and in collaboration with Ross Angus, Musical Director, ideal musical numbers were selected to fit each scenario. The show was very well costumed and the team of choreographers certainly brought out the best in the company – in particular the Cell Block Tango! A great evening’s entertainment. Well done to all involved.
