This was One Visions first production as a member of Noda and, according to Melissa Kings the founder of One Vision, they were very nervous about inviting me along and I just can’t understand why! Wow and wow! What a fabulous evening.

The first half of the evening was performed by the adult members, with the assistance of some junior members, and was a great concept. Calling it Come alive which was so apt, the setting was a wax works museum that a party of school children were visiting. At each display the wax work would ‘come alive’ and as the children moved along would then perform. From the opening chord the theatre was absolutely bouncing. The sound was phenomenal, and I couldn’t believe that four amazing females could make such an impact. I am sorry I cannot give all of the ladies their true names, but they will know who they are: Delores Van Cartier played by an absolute powerhouse Bethany Griffiths was just breathtaking, what a voice! The supporting sisters were fabulous baby (see what I did there) and their renditions of Raise you Voice and Sister Act left me open mouthed! This was the most professional sound I have heard outside of the West End. The top notes from Annie McVicar as Sister Mary Robert were pitch perfect. The rap section was so funny too.

Moving through the museum we saw the cast of Hercules sing Hero to Zero, then Anastasia’s poignant number A Journey to the past sung beautifully by Annie McVicar. An ensemble number, A Rumour in St Petersburg before settling into Joseph and the Amazing Dreamcoat, where the Narrator did an outstanding job and the men joined in too working their way through Jacob and Sons, Poor, Poor Joseph and Go, Go, Joseph which contained in a short section a lot of humour and great choreography.

The cast then upped their game (if that was at all possible) with the impeccable diction and timing of At the End of the Day and Do you hear the People Sing from Les Misérables. Again, this was so professional and the choreography superb.

The finale was a nice surprise as they moved away from usual songs and performed Come Look at the Freaks from the musical Side Show, giving the audience another opportunity to see just how capable they are. I for one could have happily sat through this again. The super talented cast should be very proud of themselves. It was an incredibly uplifting musical experience.
