Upon taking my seat for this exquisite fantasy evening I looked at a stage where a gauze depicting an open book with the words Once upon a time at the top left and happy ever after down the bottom right was hanging. This gauze was used throughout the evening by the fairy who was dressed as an air hostess, and as she opened and closed the gauzes we were whisked to a different part of her world.
The entertainment value, the quality of the direction, the projection, the chorus work, the dancing expertise and costumes were of an exceptional quality as was scenery and lighting. All the cast maintained a very high tempo in their presentation. A special mention must be made of the young sixteen year old girl who portrayed excellently the title role of Cinderella. On meeting her afterwards I knelt down, held her hand and told her how much I had enjoyed the presentation.
It was impossible to find a weakness in this presentation and all those responsible should feel proud of their efforts. It was clearly enjoyed by the audience on the night I attended and it will be a difficult production to master next time, but I thoroughly look forward to future productions by this group.
