This is what a panto should be all about.  Cheering the goodies, booing the baddies.  Trinity Players had it all.  This family panto written by Paul Wescott had everything a panto should have, lots of fun and laughter.

We all know the story of Cinderella, Barron Hardup’s daughter who is put to work by her wicked stepmother and her two ‘Ugly’ sisters.

Cinderella was played by Sasha Barnes. Gentle and kind, a great role for her.  Her sidekick, Buttons, was played by Ben Neville in a role which was made for him.  He interacted well with the children in the audience.  Well done Ben. Emily Rogers as Prince Charming and James Thomas as Ernie worked well together.   Cinderella’s father, Baron Hardup, was played by Paddy Mangan and I must congratulate him on his Black Country accent.  As a Black Country lad myself it came across well.  The baddie of the panto, The Wicked Stepmother, was played by Jenny Marsh.  How the audience booed her.  Jenny played the role with great stage presence and her costumes looked wonderful.  Di Mannion played the Fairy Godmother and made full use of the stage available instead of just standing in one place.  Playing the roles of the ugly sisters, Donna Kebab ad Trish Kebab were Paul Wescott and Richard McNally-Reilly.  They came over so well.  Some wonderful one liner’s and they used their water pistols well on the audience.

The ensemble gave great support to the principals.  I really enjoyed their dancing in the ballroom scene.  Too often the ensemble appear, sing, and then just go off, but, this chorus just seemed of float on and looked like they were part of the action.

I have mentioned the Wicked Stepmothers but all the costumes just looked right.  Nothing looked out of place.  The set, though minimum was just the right size for this venue.

Lewis and Izzy, in fact the whole company, should be proud of this production.

Congratulations to you all.
