It was a pleasure once again, to visit our friends at Walkerville for their annual pantomime 'Cinderella'. You always know what you are going to get here, and this was no exception.
A packed audience were treated to a lovely night's enetertainment, full of the usual participation (from 73 Scouts, Cubs and Beavers!), a good soaking by the dames' water-pistols, super singing, great comedy, colourful costumes and fabulous sets. Well done to the whole Team.
This was the first time we had seen Nick Thonpson's direction skills and I'm sure he would be thrilled with his efforts. The cast and crew did him proud. As did Peter Allsopp and Malcolm Dick who supplied the music superbly well. (Nice to see Malcolm here for the first time too).
The chorus, who took a full part in proceedings, were attentive, sang and danced with conviction, and gave their all. As did the principal line-up, led by John Ord as a loud, loveable and very funny Buttons. The love interest shared by Helene Archer as Cinderella and Andrea Scott-Bell as Prince Charming were nicely cast and sang beautifully. Lisa Nugent was a strong Dandini and was well supported by Helen Richadson as Fairy Godmother, David Parrack and Bev Brennan as the Baron and Baroness, Mark Taylor and Graeme Spence as the Ugly Step-sisters Mona and Grizelda, with Ken Richardson, Sophia Trimble and Jasmine Bell in the other supporting roles of Chamberlain, Courtier and Ghost. Congratulations to you all.
Thanks for the invitation and to Barbara for the hospitality. It was good to see Ann on the road to recovery. Get well soon. We had a very enjoyable evening.
