Stagedoor Production this year is the family favourite Cinderella.

The set consists of Glamourised Glittery backcloths that are now the signature of Dennis Boulderstone. Detailed and the most gorgeous colours. With outside scene and Pink Palace in the distance as the first scene. The Ball scene pale pink and pale blue and of course a galaxy of glitter.  A kitchen scene.  A large tree trunk that gets sawn in two and used as a gag as half of it is slid off the stage (yes, that had glitter too). The transformation scene was amazing and I want to see it again. The most beautiful pale blue and white carriage lit up and a white horse that I actually for a moment thought was real. With moving head and swishing tail - what a spectacle!  Created with special effects. The glitter all adds to the magical feel. Set Designer Dennis Boulderstone. Set Construction - Andrew Parmar, Dennis Boulderstone and Ben Stanier. Props Charlotte Parmar and Dennis Boulderstone.

Costume looked good and the Dame’s many outfits all coordinated. The first one being liquorice allsorts-inspired and Bertie actually sat on top of their hats. A Halloween black and orange look. The comedy one dressed as a carrot and the other as an orange. For the final costume I only had the privilege of seeing Dame Salmonella, who looked spectacular: sorry I missed Germoline’s oufit, who was absent from the bow. Clearly a lot of work and thought had gone into all these outfits and I’ve only mentioned a few. Costumes by Lynne Boulderstone. Wardrobe by Debs Lyons and Sharon Harper.

The Senior Chorus and Junior Chorus were all coordinated into the show well and Choreographer was Teresa Harper.

The cast were Dave Haycock as Baron Hardup trying to keep track of his daughters. Dennis Boulderstone as Dandini who gets more than he bargained for when he swaps places with the Prince played by Helena Carter and was involved in the sawn off tree trunk gag.

Kirsty Heaton plays Cinderella who gets pushed into a wardrobe, her clothes ripped up but she gets to sit in the amazing carriage and look gorgeous. She is kind to the old lady who just happens to be her Fairy Godmother played by Teresa Harper. Teresa looked magical in the white fairy dress and came across as kind and caring.

Philip Morris was Salmonella and Ben Stanier played Germoline (do they still make Germolene?) - the horrid step sisters who did anything to make Cinderella’s life a misery including pushing her over - not sure if scripted but very funny (no-one was harmed during this Panto – were they?!).The 12 Days of Christmas was fun - they must have been exhausted!

Last but not least is Graham Cohen as Buttons with energy and animation, Graham gets things going and has a great rapport with the audience. We are able to laugh with him, feel sorry for him and champion him all in one go. It’s like he is the glue. Great Performance.

Thank you so much for the invite and hospitality from my guest Ursula and I and for once I didn’t get wet with the water pistols.
