Three Spires Guildhall performed the classic pantomime Cinderella.
The classic tale of Cinderella who is treated badly by her Step Mother and Step Sisters she goes to the ball meets Prince Charming who then anxiously seeks her and the rest is history!
The show opens with Claire Griggs as the Fairy Godmother who sets the origins of the story beautifully, this was played out behind the gauze and was a lovely unique start to the show. Well done to Claire who played Nanny G/Fairy Godmother with a caring nature and effortlessly done.
Ken Reader as Baron Hardup played the part as you would expect being treated badly by his wife! Had lovely chemistry on stage with Nanny G and did a lovely rendition of “More I Cannot Wish You”.
Michele Goode as Petulia Tosis plays an evil part well with lots of characterisation and sent a chill up your spine with “Mother Knows Best”
Jon Andrews as Halle Tosis and Max Goode as Derma Tosis the Ugly Sisters! They had good on stage chemistry with each other causing trouble as they went and together with Buttons entertained the audience with “12 days of Christmas”
Buttons was played by Ian Meikle was a loveable joyful character played excellently he brought a lot of entertainment and energy to the stage. He made you laugh and feel sorry for him through his pursuit of Cinderella.
Siobhon Thornley played Dandini was a slightly smaller role but no means a small performance with lots of characterisation and portrayed a good sidekick to Prince Charming keeping the wooing ladies at bay! Excellently done.
Connor Clemons as Prince Charming worked very well with Dandini playing off each other, and had good vocalisation and did very well in his first Panto! A very nice duet of Shallow with Cinderella played by Kaitlin Berridge as Cinderella who was sweet and youthful and had good chemistry with those she interacted with and a beautiful singing voice.
Boo the Therapy Horse made an entrance and always delights the audience.
The remaining chorus added humour to the performance and the choreography was lovely and executed with ease.
Costumes and lights added to the performance and the Rags to Ball gown change was very slick and impressive. Although the set was very good and suited the stage well there were a couple of noisy scene charges although didn’t detract from an enjoyable performance although it did leave us wanting a Chinese at the end!
Jamie Sheerman certainly know how to entertain the audience with another excellent script.
Well done to all involved on and off stage.
