Cinderella is always an audience pleaser and this production certainly lived up to all my expectations! The very talented Daniel Wainwright has written an original script that is both traditional and modern, well-crafted and hilariously funny. Cinderella was also directed by Daniel Wainwright and was beautifully staged and had a very good pace throughout. The musical direction was by Richard Awdry. All the musical numbers were well-chosen and well-rehearsed and an excellent three-piece band gave great backing to the company throughout the show. Chloe Ellson choreographed the pantomime with some really super routines. Well done to all the production team!

The principal line-up was excellent … The title role of Cinderella was beautifully played Kimberley Hollis, with lots of charm and sincerity. A very good performance too from Chloe Ellson as the Prince who had good poise and gave us plenty of principal boy thigh-slapping! The love-sick Buttons was played by Tom Spencer with lots of humour and a great rapport with the audience. Toby Blair was excellent as Dandini. He played the role with all the innuendo and camp-ness that the character needs. Lou Everitt gave us the very evil Baroness Escargot and had the audience hissing at her every entrance. The ugly sisters were played by Daniel Wainwright as Anastasia and Luke Campbell as Priscilla and these two performances were outstanding, brilliantly funny and worked extremely well together. There were very good and strong performances too from Marc Whitestone as The Duke and Sarah Liverton as The Queen. Chris Thirlwell as Parry and Chris Taylor as Thrust also worked well together as the two guards, bringing lots of humour to their roles. Ellie Miles as Prunella gave a performance which I enjoyed very much - she was outrageously funny. Well done to the excellent Ensemble and the delightful Junior Ensemble, you all worked really hard and clearly enjoyed every moment on stage.

Cinderella was a visually stunning production …. The sets and props were beautifully made. The costumes were spectacular. The hair and make-up were both of a very high standard. The lighting and sound quality was excellent throughout.

Overall this was an outstanding production and was one of the best pantomimes that I have seen. Congratulations to everyone both on and off the stage. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening indeed.
