Sutton Arts know how to put on a panto and Emily and Dexter's production was no exception. Peter Wilman's script was fun, but sometimes for the younger audience, a bit wordy.
Emily Armstrong opened the show as a very credable Fairy Godmother and did a good job speaking in rhyme. Besides being Fairy Godmother Emiy also directed the production along with her husband, Dexter Whitehead and what a good job they did. Dexter played 'Buttons' the Baron's butler and the character who had the job of keeping the show together. The baddy of the piece, the wicked stepmother, was played in a very understated way by the wonderful Alison Daly, how the children booed her. Pure Evil.
Phebe Jackson played Cinderella, wonderful acting and voice. Her nemises, the ungly sisters were Paul Atkins and James Hutt, (Jalapeno and Mozzarella). Bold and brassey, just as dames should be. Completing the family as Baron Hardup was Paul Wescott. A wonderful role. Tim Gough played a credable love interest in Prince Charming and Ollie Farrelly was his side-kick, Dandini.
The Sutton Arts set designers did their normal high standard set which showed up the colourful costumes. I enjoyed the audience participation numbers especially the twelve days of Christmas.
Chrous numbers were well staged.
A good family panto.
