Two beastley sisters (ugly inside besides outside - and superbly played by the two producers) made life quite miserable for Cinderella and her father the Baron (Gemma Clarkson and Granville Stead), who tried very hard to be pleasant and kind. They were aided by everyone's favourite, Buttons (Neil Broadbent) and a charming Fairy Godmother (Helen Woodhead) who both had a difficult job against the Ugly Sisters. They became even more horrid and demanding when they learned of the Prince and Dandini's intention to give a ball - and even the Chamberlain was put off by the two horrors. But of course, all turned out well in the end and along the way we were treated to some super numbers sung and danced beautifully by the chorus and dancers, who were dressed in the most gorgeous costumes and playing in some fabulous settings with a really magical transformation scene. There was not one weak link anywhere and I could have watched the show many times over.
