This comedy by Ray Cooney was a sequel to the very popular "Run For Your Wife" continuing the story of bigamist John Smith, his two families and his two children. The inevitable happens, the son and daughter meet via the Internet and are attracted to each other and arrange to meet. What followed this proposed arrangement was an evening of fun and "tears rolling down the cheeks" laughter. It was Fellowship Players at their very best. Keith Ellis as John Smith and Ian Eaton as his best friend Stanley Gardner were a comedy twosome par excellence. Their timing was perfect and the bounced lines backwards and forwards like the final of a first class tennis match.
They were very ably supported throughout by Ruth Bosman and Julie Barry as their wives and Josh Bosman and Emily Hawes as the teenagers destined never to meet until the last moment. Not forgetting a lovely performance by Roger Shepherd as the ageing Father of Stanley. A true cameo performance.
Add to all of this a clever set of two homes sharing one stage, good sound and lighting and you have an evening of pure comedy theatre at its very best.
Congratulations to everyone connected with this production. I'm very proud to be their Noda representative.
