Carousel

Farnworth  certainly pulled out all stops with this show Carousel.  Every  principal gave  strong  performances with impeccable acting and vocals especially from the two young leads, Katy Clayton and Sam Cain playing the two lovers Julie Jordan and Billy Bigelow.  They were wonderful as we sat through beautiful and sensative scenes between these two.  The  Snow Family well played by Natalie Crompton (Carrie) and Ivor Farley ( Enoch)  had everyone laughing especially when we met their children. They all behaved so well.

Sharon Knott gave a strong performance as Nettie Fowler. Her rendition with Julie on finding Billy dead `You`ll Never Walk Alone` was fantastic, Hankies were certainly out then.

Other parts well cast included Dean Simmons as the evil Jigger,Melanie Sanders playing Mrs Mullin and Colin Dean was excellent as the Starkeeper. A delightful performance was given by Harriet Dean as Louise Bigelow. The ballet with Connor Parkinson was outstanding.

Sets and scene changing were well designed and changes were performed easily.  Sound and lighting were just right. I loved the scene with the Starkeeper, so effective with stars hanging around the stage, beautiful.

I must congratulate all the young actors, you all worked so hard, well done everyone.

Finally I must return to the acting of the two leads Katy and Sam. I was so impressed and doubt there could not be better on the professional stage.
