A pat on the back for the MD and his seventeen-strong orchestra. I am delighted to report the accompaniment throughout was excellent. Never were the musicians too loud for the singers. The contribution by the chorus was particularly notable and the leads all sang extremely well. Congratulations to Jo Dewberry on taking on the taxing role of Julie Jordan at only a very few days notice. She did extremely well. The principal characters were nicely defined. Lesley Harris [Carrie Pipperidge], Kristian Denman [Billy Bigelow], David Taylor [Jigger Craigin] Kevin Woolnough [Mr Snow] and Linda Price [Nettie] all were very commendable. The rest of the named parts and chorus were strong in support. Rhiannon Smith was excellent as Louise. The ballet with Jack Hardman [the Carnival Boy] and the other youngsters was very pleasing. There was plenty of tuneful singing, interesting dance routines, comedy and pathos in this classic show. Well done.
