This was an extremely accomplished production ‘Calendar Girls The Musical and congratulations must go to Director Wayne Newton, assisted by Stewart Robertson and Musical Director Robin Parrish. The set was great and slowly through the opening number of ‘Yorkshire’ we are introduced to a very talented cast. John (Simon Preston) had a great calmness. You could feel the loving chemistry between him and wife Annie (Lindsay Coy) who delivered a brilliant performance throughout displaying so many emotions. There was also great friendship with best friend Chris (Rebecca Witty) who also delivered a great performance. You felt the strong friendship and connection between them through the highs and lows.

There were some very good performances all round Cora (Kate Sanderson), Jessie (Linda Lawcock), Celia (Rhi Appleyard), Ruth (Eleanor McNeill), Marie (Adele Bowness) all had great characterisations and good delivery. They were suitably assisted by Rod (Stewart Robertson), Colin (Mick McNeill), Danny (Jason Goodall), Jenny (Rebecca Grimbleby) Tommo (Charlie Clayton), Lawrence (Matt Bates), Brenda Hulse (Donna Wilcox-Thomas) and lastly but not least Miss Tea Wilson (Eve McIntosh and Miss Coffee Wilson (Amy Sykes).

This was a great company show. The singing was strong and everyone played their part. Once again well done to all the production team on a great show. The audience laughed and cried and were with you all the way.
