Calamity Jane was a good choice as it has a real story going through it and most of the songs are well loved and memorable.
The energetic cast gave a good account of themselves and everyone look absolutely right - well done to the costume team. The scenery was ideal and it was such a good idea to have the band elevated at the back of the stage, making a good sound and all looking really part of the proceedings in their western hats.
The Deadwood Stage was awaited with eager anticipation and then Calamity Jane erupted on to the stage! Donna Bull gave a very lively performance indeed and put over her songs in great fashion. Really good performances from Jack West as Wild Bill Hickok (lovely voice) and Steve Saunders as Lieut. Danny Gilmartin with Gemma Albrow giving us a lovely Katie Brown. All the other parts, together with the chorus added to the fun and the movement was well organised. Lovely dancing from the Saloon Girls.
Congratulations to Director, MD and Choreographer and all involved in bringing another lively show to Seaford.
