I was very impressed with the set which was designed by Jane Taylor and Robert Waterhouse and was built by a posse of RAOS members. In particular I liked the swift transformation of Calamity's cabin to a truly 'girlie' house. The lighting and other effects were very pleasing and the costumes were delightful. David Taylor was ideally cast as Wild Bill Hickock and Jo Dewberry was equally credible in the title role. Not to be outdone, there were telling performances from Emily Stevens [Katie Brown], Sarah Hemsall [Susan], Adam Colclough [Lt. Danny Gilmartin], Jack Hardman [Francis Fryer] and Mike Pinkerton as Henry Miller. There was plenty of support from those with minor roles and the chorus members. The dance routines showed variety and good use of rehearsal time. The singing throughout was to a high standard and the band's accompaniment was excellent. Occasionally, however, the diction could have been clearer. This popular musical found great favour with the audience. Well done, everyone.
