~~They say that the future of amateur theatre is with the youth theatres.  Well, if that is the case then with Birmingham Youth Theatre we are in very safe hands.  Bugsy Malone is a classic show and this company really brought it to life.  Cameron Simpson played the role of Bugsy well.  He was supported by Jenna Simpson as Tallulah and Emmie Hands as Blousey Brown, the singer looking for fame.  Sam Cox as Fat Sam was superb in the role and so believable.  I also have great admiration for Joe Logan who took on various roles including Captain Smolsky and Cagey Joe.  I also liked Kathryn Ellis as O’Dreary, A very talented actress.  Like wise James Shaw I am sure has a bright future ahead.

The set of Fat Sam’s looked very good and the costumes bright and effective.  Musical Director Chris Corcoran and Choreographer Jordan McKenzie had worked hard with this cast, and it showed.

Adam Swift directed a fine show and Birmingham Youth Theatre should be proud of it.

The audience really enjoyed this production and so did I.

P.S.  Can I have a splat gun please
