This play is set in the 1960’s with Bernard (Richard Geldard) occupying a flat in Paris where he entertains 3 air hostesses who are all engaged to him, not knowing about the others. As he explains to his old school chum Robert (Craig Edgley), who is visiting him, it’s just a case of checking the airline timetables so that one fiancée leaves before another arrives. All seems to be going smoothly until a new plane is taken into service which travels faster and reduces journey times; this, combined with some bad weather, results in all 3 fiancées being in the flat at the same time. With the help of Robert and disgruntled maid Bertha (Allison Allen), Bernard attempts to prevent his fiancées Gloria (Briony Sparrow), Gabriella (Tami Brown) and Grechen (Lucy Smith) from meeting each other. This classic farce was performed on a set with sufficient doors to provide the many points of entry and exit required. All of the cast were very appropriately costumed for the period (I remember the styles well!) and displayed fine characterisation. This was great comedy well performed and deserving of the sustained applause it received from the appreciative audience. Congratulations to all concerned with this production!
