Helen Silcock, their scenic designer, deserves the highest praise for her remarkable back cloth of a rustic area of Gloucestershire. This later revealed a typical farmer's barn. the action of the play revolved around five boys and a couple of girls all aged about seven. The time was 1943. Clearly, some of the children could be seen as leaders, and some were definitely bullies. Al seven characters were played extremely well by adults. Frankly, it was all very thought-provoking. Certainly I found myself in reminiscent mood regarding my own childhood, and I suspect this was the case with the rest of the audience. The children's clothing was suitable for 1943. If anything their attire was maybe too pristine. Full marks to the lighting  and sound; the fire that engulfed the  barn was quite amazingly realistic. This was a first rate production. Well done.
