As a big fan of the Musical, I was looking forward to seeing the play, and I was not disappointed ! Telling the tale of twin brothers, Eddie and Mickey, who were born to a working class mother who had to give one of them away to her employer. The play looked at their separate lives and their relationship to each other and their families. Jane Aston as Mrs. Johnston gave a powerful performance. Ben Field and Rob Thomas gave flawless performances as Eddie and Mickey, from Seven year olds right up to adults. With Fiona Dunn as Linda, the girl that both men fancied and Lynette Coffey as Mrs. Lyons, the paranoid adopted mother of Eddie. The fight scene between Mickey and Linda had the audience on the edge of their seats. I must mention Wayne Cooper as The Narrator; His formidable appearance fitted the play brilliantly. I also must mention the supporting actors, Jon Hall, Rick Jones and Tony Cotter, who supported the main principals well. The Director, Gary Simmons, designed the set. It was plain and simple and really fitted in well with this superb production. Trinity, this production will be remembered for sometime to come.
