It can be difficult presenting a play that is well known from the TV but LTC rose to the challenge and gave us a very good production of ‘Blackadder The Third’. The split set worked very well and the musical interludes helped with the many quick scene changes. Costumes and wigs were good for all the various characters. The play was full of laugh out loud humour and belly laughs galore. John Mackenzie was outstanding as Blackadder giving a confident performance. So too was Matt Smith as Baldrick with his dim witted humour. Add to this Bryn Marwood as uncouth George the Prince Regent and we had a trio of strong characters. They were supported by some equally strong and quirky performances by Ross Cryer as Dr Samuel Johnson, Robin Poole as poet Lord Byron, Ian Moss as poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Kevin Hornsey as mad King George III not to mention doubling and trebling other parts. Sue Twilley was lovely as Mrs Miggins giving us her musical musings and Madeline Grey gave us a humorous MacAdder. Everyone played their parts well and I take my hat off to all for learning all those lines.

I would like to congratulate the Director and all of the production team for their hard work in bringing this play to the stage. I had a very enjoyable evening. Thank you so much LTC.
