Another joint production from Phoenix Players and St Mathew's Theatrical Society, it was obvious a great deal of hard work had gone into this well directed production.  There were good strong performances from the assembled cast, the father, Geoffrey (Marin Lawlor) and the mother Alice, (Karen Riding) were ideally cast with yorkshire humour abounding.  Billy (Chris Avery) gave a first class, lively performance with his everlasting lies and dreams. One could not forget Florence the Grandma screeching away until she eventually popped her clogs.  There were some excellent  character parts from the rest of the cast, and it was good to have experienced actors for all the smaller roles.   A superb stage set, three quarters of the stage built to be the inside of the house, and one third the front door and the garden.  Set in the 1960's the decorations, costumes, furniture and all the props were absolutely spot on.  This was a real team effort making a truly pleasurable evening.  Keep up the good work!
