The synopsis of this show claimed that this comedy would be sure to have one laughing from start to finish, an assessment that proved to be absolutely spot-on. There was superb characterisation from every member of the cast as they acted out their parts as staff and guests at a Blackpool boarding house. Gaynor Hannen (as owner Mrs. Austin) was domineering and difficult, making sure all her house rules and regulations were complied with; she was ably assisted by Val Gregg (as Florie the maid) who listened at doors and eavesdropped on guest’s conversations. The very capable Brian Branch and Anne Fenson (as Mr & Mrs Pearson) were excellent in their portrayals of a middle-aged couple who were both most capable in verbal jousting; Rosie King (as their feisty daughter) showed she was determined to make her own decisions and accept her mistakes. Amie Walker and Nick Edwards were very well matched as Mr & Mrs Pepper, a newly-wed young couple on honeymoon. Richard Gregg (as dancer Tony Brent) and Sandie Burns (as his dance partner) did well to dispel the myth that show business is always glamorous. In view of the huge amount of laughter generated by this production the audience should have been charged much more! Well done all who were involved in this hilarious production!
