The three bedroom set of 'Bedroom Farce' worked well in this lovely little theatre and there was ample space for all three rooms. There was a good contrast between each of the rooms and also between the four couples. There was Delia (Debbie Forsyth) and Ernest (Keith Burton) as the solid older couple whose idea of excitement was having sardines on toast in bed. Jan (Heather Appleton) and Nick (Tom Barber) were having to cope with Nick's bad back and well done to Nick who had to remain on stage the whole time. Kate (Carol Bailey) and Malcolm (Michael Thorner) were busy holding a party in their new house which ended up finishing early due to a fall out betwen Susannah (Sarah Burton) and Trevor (Ben Derrick).
It was a strong and confident cast and the scenes flowed smoothly. The play is so well written that there are always different things to spot and humorous moments to appreciate. The action starts slowly but the pace soon speeds up and there were plenty of laughs.
The 70's costumes were well thought out and furnishings and props were fitting for the period. A well designed chest of drawers was very believable and very funny.
A cleverly directed play with all cast members making their roles very believable. Well done to everyone involved.
