The wonderful world of Disney has been thrilling audiences young and old over the decades and all involved in this musical stage production of a story in the Enchanted House can be enormously satisfied with this ambitious and very enjoyable show

Narrator (John Horseman) set the scene to an imaginative “big screen” type projection, followed by all the characters rapidly filling the stage including very effective emergence from the auditorium. The opening number with all the townsfolk in vibrant costume of colour and variety featured an extremely well executed freeze. The first of many superb dance routines and excellent choreography seen throughout the show.

Belle (Gemma Haddrell) vocally and artistically delivered assured performances along with Babette (Polly-Emily Taylor) and other leading principals all of whom helped bring this magical story to life.  Maurice (Dave Kewley) played his eccentric Father figure role well. Lumiere (Steve Roberts) produced a superb performance of comedy and timing, as did Cogsworth (Greg Pearson). The Beast (Dean Bayliss) gave an assured performance with strength and sensitivity.

Mrs Potts (Amanda Golding) played the role well supported in magnificent manner by an angelic Chip(Juliette Emond) – Thurs,Sat,Sun Mat performances-. Silly Girls (Rebecca Barclay,Tracey Wallbank and Ruth Organ) were also extremely good.

The big numbers featured a highly disciplined and well-rehearsed chorus of townsfolk vocally clear and strong as they danced though a number of imaginative routines, the wolf chase especially effective. The whole cast and ensemble were supported by a rich sounding orchestra, swift changes, and a stunning set which included a smoke machine in the transformation scene that delivered huge impact.

All involved in this production can feel rightly proud of successfully staging a first class show and delivering to the audience entertainment of the highest quality.
