The story follows Belle, a beautiful and intelligent woman who feels out of place in her provincial French village. When her father is imprisoned in a mystery castle, Belle’s attempt to rescue him leads to her capture by the Beast. The only way the Beast can become human again if he learns to love and be loved in return. Will they confess their love for one another before it is too late.

Belle played by Jenni Hutchinson was excellent in this role her acting and amazing vocals were outstanding.

Beast played by James Hutchinson was very powerful with equally good vocals, you could see and feel the love develop between both characters all through the show.

The hilarious Gaston played by Lee Hawker had the audience in stitches with his poses and his look at me attitude. In a way you felt sorry for him that he did not get his Belle but it was not without trying to get her to marry him.

Belle’s dad Maurice played by Richard Field done a wonderful job with this character.

Lumiere played by Owen Evans and Cogsworth played by Cole Kelly were a brilliant double act, they just seemed to bounce off each other all the way through the show, along with Mrs Potts played by Jo Jones and Chip played by the talented Theo Hawker, the 4 of them worked well on stage together. I really enjoyed Jo’s rendition of Beauty and the Beast, not a sound was heard in the audience whilst this was being sung.

I must say my favourite part was the Ensemble singing and dancing to Be Our Guest, as well as playing the lead role Jenni Hutchinson also done the choreography and she absolutely smashed this routine out of the park with Tap, Jive, Fox trot every dance seemed to be in this it was brilliant. Don’t know how Jenni found the time to do both roles as there was also a lot of other good dance routines in the show so well done.

As I always say the ensemble is an important part of any group and you all must be congratulated on doing such a wonderful job, great singing and dancing with lots of smiles on stage.

Colin Brind once again put together a great orchestra with 14 musicians, they sounded so good.

A huge congratulations goes to Chris Briggs the Artistic Director, the show was fast paced and well casted. A standing ovation at the end by the audience was thoroughly deserved as you could see how much hard work and effort had gone into this show.

Sound and lighting were very good giving all the right moods and cues of the show.

A huge congratulations to the full cast as you put on an excellent show which was well appreciated by the audience.

I have saved the best for last in my opinion, which sometimes never gets mentioned, Costumes. Wow what a fantastic job you all done with making your own costumes for the show they all looked so good off stage so a big well done to Laura Grundy, Ashia Cannon and Alexandra Boardman and your team of helpers you have all got to be so proud of yourselves as I know how hard it is making the costumes so I applaud you all.

Well Done
