An arrogant young prince and his castle’s servants fall under the spell of a wicked Enchantress, who turns him into a hideous Beast until he learns to love and be loved in return. The spirited, headstrong village girl Belle enters the Beast’s castle after he imprisons her father, Maurice. With the help of his enchanted servants, including the matronly Mrs Potts, Belle begins to draw the cold-hearted Beast out of his isolation.
The story set off with three narrators, Freya Butler, Honor Bainbridge and Daisy Morrow, who came on stage with loud voices and beautiful smiles.
Belle played by Edie Hobson, performed majestically with her singing and acting she played the part with great conviction.
Beast played by Harvey Bill, had the audience terrified when he came onto the stage with the loudest of roars you will ever hear, but soon won them over as his love for Belle blossomed. A commanding performance by the Beast.
The popular man in the village who said he is going to marry Belle, Gaston played by Louis Hindmoor, failed in his attempt to win Belle’s heart but he won the audience over with his comedy and vocals.
Now for the servants and how well they all played their parts, but I must mention Lumiere played by Hollie Wallace and Cogsworth played by Nicoletta Stoica and what a good partnership you both were.
It was nice to see a full ensemble on stage with huge smiles and loud voices, as I always say without a good ensemble a show may not look or sound so good, but this was not the case for this show. Congratulations.
Once again, the show was Produced/Directed by David and Sallie McNeill, and what a show you put on for the audience, you could tell how much hard work has gone into this.
MD Alison Bedford, done a fantastic job on all the musical numbers, the cast sounded excellent.
The set looked good and worked well with the cast.
I must mention all the costumes as they were stunning, you could very easily have thought that they were hired in.
Once again, another good show so a massive well done to everyone.
