This was a Maltby Minors production.

It is always a pleasure to see a group of youngsters enjoying themselves and even more so when they are on stage performing their socks off to produce and extremely great show.
I am sure Director Claire Saddington will be very pleased at her choice of cast for this show, casting Poppy Bridges as Belle was perfect, she looked every bit the princess and her sweet singing together with her acting abilities in the  show proved to be a hit with the audience. Of course as well as a pretty young girl to play the part of Belle you also need a strong actor to play the part of The Beast and here we had Matthew Smith who was excellent being able to bring out the best parts of the character both as The Prince and The Beast, this together with his fine singing again proved he was a more than capable actor for this part.
This production used very minimalist  scenery but instead used other young actors to portray the various parts of the show such as the woods and the castle, not an easy thing for youngsters to do but it certainly paid off in this piece.
I particularly enjoyed the performances of Ellie-May Scholey-Strzala as Lumiere and Skye Liversidge as Cogsworth, both these young girls were excellent in their parts especially Ellie-May when she got two gents from the audience, her timing was perfect and really showed off her acting skills.
Mention must also be made of Courtney Morris as Mrs. Potts, especially when she sang the title song, Harry Rigby as Chip, Emma Philip as Babette, Charlie Lee as Maurice, playing the old father of Belle perfectly, there was also Charlie Wroe as La Fou 1 and Charlotte Robinson as La Fou 2, both these played their parts to the full to only add to the enjoyment of the show.
I would really like to mention everyone in this show who only added to the total enjoyment but space would not allow this, needless to say there were no weak links in this piece.
Many congratulations to all involved in this production.
