Beauty and the Beast

This is not an easy show to put on but under an expert production team it was well done. This panto had a large cast who all worked together superbly. It would take too long to name everyone, so I’ve picked out the main ones to make an impact on me. The Dame, Ma (Martin Kennie) was hilarious and clever, even getting laughs from some technical slips. Sinead Gray played a lovely winsome Beauty with a fine voice. Malabelle (Pheobe Gibb Kellas) was not only a well- played baddie, but in the end proved to be a very sexy goodie! She was complimented by Felix (Ben Mortimer), the furry feline with nice comedy timing and an accent to put Antonio Banderas to shame. To my mind Beast (Jimmy Cameron) stole the show with his sympathetic portrayal, plus showing his darker side. Clever sets and fantastic costumes gave it the gloss it deserved. A superb afternoon!
