Beauty and the Beast

Kathy you have done it again!! Kathy West has directed a superb panto this year for RaTs a right family affair both on and off stage. Such a great cast, one whole family on stage, and a brother and sister, a husband wife and son. A family panto for the audience as well, zipped along with topical jokes and a lot of panto “camp”. I enjoyed performances by Helen Gaston and Jo Godman such a comic pair, Dean Caston as Ma dame Fifi is always a riot! as dame, perfect along with his son playing a perfect buffer for him well done Ryan.  Alan Godman as the Beast gave us a polished performance along with his superb acting and singing voice. Brother and sister Lauren and Liam Feekins  were teamed well as the love interest. Marcel and Monique Kerry Bailey and Josh Webb put the camp in CAMP!!.Gustave Andy Anderson put in the right amount of sex appeal with his 6 pack and muscles, and a tongue in cheek performance, just perfect. Good and Bad fairies Flora and Belladonna Megan Weskin and Charlotte Caston bounced off each other with great aplomb. Others in the cast included Carly Caller, Andy Anderson, Darren Hammock, Andrew Manktelow, Rob O’Hanlon, Jodie-Mae-Scammell, Maddie Spain, Marin Pearce,Tom Godman, Dexter Clift and Kirsty Mackie - sorry if I have missed anyone! Dance, choreographed by Leigh and Chanelle Redding, was expertly performed on this small stage. Music put together well by William Beck: great choices.
